De Beers Millennium Star

The Millennium Star is a famous diamond owned by De Beers. It was unveiled in 1999 at the turn of the new Millennium at the Millennium Dome. It is the worlds second largest internally and externally flawless diamond.
This beautiful gemstone was cut from a 777 carat rough, that was discovered in 1990 in Zaire. The gemstone was purchased at the height of that country's civil war by the Group.
The job of cutting the stone was contracted out to the Steinmetz Diamond Group. Using lasers, It required approximately three years to cut the rough down to a pear-shaped diamond at 203.04 carats.

The Centenary Diamond

The Centenary Diamond was found in the Premier Mine. It was first discovered using a x-ray imaging system back in 1986.
The rough stone was originally 599 carats. The diamond was cut by Gabi Tolkowsky and his team of hand picked Lapidaries. It was unveiled in 1991 in its final form at 273.85 carats.
This beautiful diamond is rated grade D in color by the GIA which is the highest grade of colorless diamond and is internally and externally flawless. Its estimated value is at least 100 million.
